I bought my head for $400 and a 212 version for $250, but I also spent $200 retubing them both. From what I have seen, $650 is on the higher side of what these "go for" but they do sell for that. It's a really solid head that is worth a little coin, but I don't know if I'd dish out $650 for it, especially when you can get a V4 or JCM 800 for $100 more.

in what world does a jcm 800 for 750? For a decent one you a spending 1000 minimum. also if you are looking to buy a 5150 you wouldnt be in the market for a V4 since they are NOTHING alike.

800's recently went up in value but if you have $750-$800 and transpiration to where the head is/willing to pay shipping, chances are you can get a good deal. The demand of used 800's will go back down just like Triple Rec's did last year.

As far as a V4, you're right that it is not a 5150. It was a point of reference. I could have easily said a Sovtek MIG.

I never ever dropped my head why would you say that ? matt bought his from ted krisko on the downlow he paid what guitar center was gonna buy it from the kid, I did the same a kid was walking in a music store needing $ and I gave him above what the music store was gonna give him, my head is worth more than what I bought it for and regardless of what you think thats what alot of them are going for.

yeah, if you sit on it for 6 months...

a quick googling shows the head (not the combo which has some different internal components) going from 600-900 bucks. unlike most amps i think the more you mod them the more value they attain. i did the bias mod and might set it to take kt88s on the outside sockets on mine so i would pry even ask more than 650....

Jesus fucking christ sell me a 5150 212 for under $300 someone.
