Anyone looking to live in East Lansing next year?

I'm going there for school next July and I need a roommate. I found a pretty good looking place online. Unfortunately, I don't really know anybody who goes to State or lives there already or even have that many friends for that matter. I'm really easy to get along with though. If you are interested, let's hook up and we'll try to figure something out.

This is the place I was looking at. As far as I can tell, the only extra thing that would need to be paid for as far as utilities go is internet. I don't watch television.

Are you transferring to State? Living that far from campus could be a pain in the ass. I say that because I hate the CATA bus, if you dont mind sitting on the bus for a while it might not be that bad. If you have a car, it could be an alright spot if you buy a commuter pass for campus and drive down to park in that lot. There really isnt parking on campus. Also, living that far from Grand River/Michigan Ave. really isolates you if youre trying to go out and party or whatever because a majority of students live within a few block of campus so that's where a majority of things go on. I lived in an DTN apartment building 2 years ago and they're pretty good. It'll be hard to find a place with openings this late since most people sign a year in advance for the following school year but if you can I would seriously recommend finding a place in the area of Campus to Burcham Dr. and Hagadorn to somewhere down Michigan Ave before the highway that way youre within walking distance of campus. Its more expensive but seriously worth it. Its too bad youre moving to the area next year, I graduated and Im out of here in May. I would have been your friend hahaha.

Yup, I'll be transferring to State. Is it really that far from campus? It didn't look like it was too far with the map that was included on the page. I do have a car, but it's in really bad shape and I don't know if it will still be around by the time I get there. I was really planning on walking everywhere or using my bike anyways. I'm a stick in the mud and don't really care about parties or whatever, but I was assuming that this place would be pretty close to the campus, so I guess I should try to find something closer now. Thanks for the info and offer anyways though.

Yeah, that is not terribly far, but seriously inconvenient. Look for a place near the #1 bus route (along Michigan Ave) if you're going to take CATA. If you're okay with riding a bike, that place isn't too bad but there is nothing to walk to for food or whatever. And zero fun shit near there.

That area is not far from campus, but it's still far from any buildings you would have classes in. The area kind of sucks also, if you really don't care about partying try looking for a cheap place on the east side of Lansing, and ride your bike to campus.

Last time I went to a party in the east side there was person playing a stand up bass in the living room at ~3am and I stole a bunch of beer out of the fridge. And some hippie girl kept talking about my friends boobs. It was weird.
