Nocturnal Fear is playing Mac's Bar again. I refuse to go there because they book this band, rather than re-writing what I did last time they got booked, I will just post this letter I wrote to the local alternative newspaper last January:

Hello,

I'm just writing to let as many people as possible know that a band
with at least one active neonazi member is playing at Mac's Bar this
weekend( http://northlawnmusic.com/fusion/Events/ouput.php or
http://macsbar.com/ ). They are called Nocturnal Fear, and share a
member who goes by the name Slavehunter (or Chris Pist) from the
overtly racist Detroit band Angry Aryans. Here are a few links about
both bands:

Angry Aryans:

interview. Chris can be seen at 1:05 in a Nocturnal Fear shirt)

Nocturnal Fear:

While I have not personally spoken with him about that "status" of his
beliefs, I'm thinking its fairly safe to assume that he hasn't changed
much since he goes by the name Slavehunter, still has his swastika
tattoos, and titled their debut album Sterilize and Exterminate (released by resistance records).
I understand the links I provide are not hard evidence in proving
Chris's identity, but it is widely known in the Michigan heavy metal
and Detroit punk scenes.

Also, I know that Chuck Mannio, Mac's current owner, is aware of this.
The band played once earlier this month, and he was informed at that
time and still re-booked the band with that knowledge. I am not
writing this to elicit any response, reaction, or anything else. Just
to inform about something going on in our community that might
normally fly under even alternative press radar.

He also has 2YT4U tattooed across his stomach and drives around Novi in a Nissan with a Nocturnal Fear front license plate.

pretty sure I saw that band at the 2500 club a while back and thought it was pretty slow for thrash.

I used to love Mac's when Steve booked there, but I never got the impression it was anything more than a bar. Ethics, or whatever, were never really something I think they cared about.

Its one of the only venues in Lansing, and while I don't go to the place, other people do. Just letting folks know.
