Personal rip of the "Endangered Species" 7". I'm sure there's more, and that other people have it, but that's what I've got.

Now I don't gotta rip mine.
What do you use for digitizing, Dave?

Dave is actually a computer so he just does it himself (DIY OR DIE)

I hate it when I break a stylus nail.

Only I run on Windows '90.
I just scanned the stuff on a printer/scanner and the software did the rest. I actually have quite a bit of stuff scanned for my records.

I was looking for a little more detail, asshat.

I used an HP Photosmart C4580 printer that had a scanner on it. I currently use an HP Deskjet 1050 J410.

I might be able to learn what was used to encode the data. Don't care about that.

Oh, okay. I didn't know what the hell you meant. I thought there was only one turntable used to rip vinyl to digital. I don't know the precise model #, but here, try this:

Something like this, but more plastic and less metal. \m/

You don't need a usb turntable. You don't even need a phono a preamp now. Newer software accounts for EQ limits put on records so you can bypass that and plug straight in to your computer.
I've got some more playing around to do to see what I can get out of a non usb turntable. I need an female rca to male quarter inch or usb cable. I tried running out from the headphone jack but that isn't a line out so it is getting amplified and there is too much distortion.
I can't figure out why but there is a faint high pitch tone in the background of everything I rip with my usb turntable using Audacity software.

perhaps your turntable isn't grounded?

Actually I think that noise is old punx whining about how it was better in the 80s

I am inclined to agree.
My usb turntable doesn't have a ground. Not being grounded usually creates a low hum in my experience. There is something screwy with my sample rate on the computer. That quiet hiss is loud as hell unless I keep changing around the sample rate. Doing that makes it suddenly disappear.

changing it to what?

Just any random sample rate / bit depth. Beats me. It's fucking weird.

well there is something called the nyquist frequency is why I ask. If you are lowering the sample-rate then you are also lowering the highest frequency that can be sampled (freq range is 1/2 of sample rate). I doubt it just lets to type anything in for sample rate, but don't go lower than 44.1 khz IMHO.

That's the rate I rip everything at. I think there is something no communicating in the software.
