I've been listening to a couple of CTW releases I recently
re-picked up:

-EMPATHY "under the lost smile" CTW 007

Real EMO...b4 it was a household name. I think members went on to play in ELLIOT?

-FADEAWAY "s/t" CTW 006

VOGEL played drums in this band...

Apparently there was some "ethical" issues with CTW, but WARDEN was always cool to me.
He mastered the THROUGH THICK & THIN demo basically for free, I think Neel just bought him like a steak dinner or some shit.

Any other recomendations?

I don't know about some of his later releases, but I know his earlier stuff was quite choice.

I really like the Capture the Flag records he put out.

I've never met the guy but I've heard some of the most ridiculous and hilarious stories involving this dude. People should post stories if they have any.

I didnt realize that GB bootleg was a CTW special. The Mainspring/RIP split was always my favorite CTW jam. The Mainspring song is killer. Jay Palumbo was the dude that played in Elliot/Empathy. Also shouldn't be forgotten Mike put out the first (and by far the best) Boy Sets Fire record, even though they ended up hating him. Whatever he did-I don't really care- he put out a shit ton of good stuff.

Look for Mike Warden to be on the speaking panel (among other old dudes) for the Burning Fight Book event in the afternoon before the Earthmover show 12.26! More info next week.
