Fuck yeah Vanity. I still like that record. I bought Kingdom of Lost Souls at This Is Hardcore, it's not a bad record but doesn't hold a candle to everything they did before that for me. It's a very metal record to me while the previous material was much more metallic hardcore in my opinion. I listened to it once and probably won't again for a long time.

Don't like Tom Sheehan huh Aaron? You must not be an Indecision fan then? That's my least fav MPB record, I prefer the Fusco material. LOVE Indecision however.

I saw Cold War at Alvins with Throwdown in '04, they were very boring.

Heartsounds first record, Until We Surrender, is awesome as well.

Nick_H have you heard the Katatonia album that had Mike's vocals (Brave Murder Day). If you're into Orchid / Morningrise you might want to check that out. Its really similar but with a shoegaze vibe.

I remember digging Katatonia when I checked them out in highschool, but I haven't listened to them in forever. I don't believe I've heard the album you're referring to, though. Is Brave Murder Day the name of the album? I'll download it and give it a listen. I really dig shoegaze.

Brave Murder Day is great. Still black/death metal, but before Jonas was trying to be a gothed out front man. Stuff after that is like Jeff Buckley shoegaze metal, and its pretty crappy until Last Fair Deal Gone Down, which has some good songs. The sadsack lyrics are hard to take when you can understand each word.

Beware, the album is a bit of a sleeper so it might not grab your attention at first.
